The Samyang 24mm F1.4 ED AS UMC is a high-quality wide-angle prime lens with a large aperture for full-frame or APS-C sensors, compatible with Canon EF, Canon M, Sony A, Sony E, Pentax K, Fujifilm X, Samsung NX, Four Thirds, and Olympus and Panasonic Micro Four Thirds MFT mounts. A Nikon version with automatic exposure (AE) is available (listed separately). It is ideal for full-frame cameras, including the latest Sony full-frame E-mount cameras, offering a high-quality wide-angle lens perfect for street, landscape and architectural photography, even in low-light conditions. Sharpness is excellent, even at the edges of the image at wide apertures, and the fast f/1.4 aperture allows a shallow depth of field when needed. Photographers using Canon DX / APS-C sensors will obtain an angle of view of approximately 38mm (35mm equivalent) suited to photojournalism and general photography. On Four Thirds cameras, the angle of view would be approximately that of a standard 50mm lens (35mm equivalent), providing a standard large-aperture prime lens, and a 50mm equivalent with Micro Four Thirds (MFT). The Samyang 24mm F1.4 ED AS UMC is a manual focus prime lens. The manual focus ring is wide, easily accessible and perfectly suited to most photographic applications, with the exception of applications such as sports where autofocus lenses would be more appropriate. For cinematographic and video applications, manual focus is often the preferred choice, allowing focus pulls during shooting, and there is a growing number of users using DSLRs for filmmaking and high-definition (HD) video. This Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC lens features a standard coupled aperture (with click stops), adjustable in 1-stop intervals. Precise focusing at very close range or in critical focusing situations can be achieved using Live View focusing. The Samyang 24mm offers beautiful bokeh (the character of out-of-focus areas), thanks to its 8-blade circular aperture and fast aperture. The optical construction comprises 13 elements arranged in 12 groups, including 4 extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements, plus two aspherical elements. The 24mm features Ultra Multi Coated (UMC) elements for the best possible light transmission and resistance to ghosting and flare. The Samyang 24mm F1.4 ED AS UMC lens offers a professional wide-angle prime lens with excellent optics, while providing excellent value for money. Supplied with a detachable petal-shaped lens hood, lens caps and a soft pouch. Filter size is 77mm. Specifications
