The Samyang 24mm F1.4 ED AS UMC is a high-quality wide-angle prime lens with a large aperture for full-frame or APS-C sensors, compatible with Canon EF, Canon M, Sony A, Sony E, Pentax K, Fujifilm X, Samsung NX, Four Thirds and Olympus and Panasonic Micro Four Thirds MFT mounts. A Nikon version with automatic exposure (AE) is available (listed separately). It is ideal for full-frame cameras, including the recent Sony full-frame E-mount cameras, offering a high-quality wide-angle lens perfect for street, landscape and architectural photography, even in low light. Sharpness is excellent, even at the edges of the image at wide apertures, and the large f/1.4 aperture allows for a shallow depth of field when needed. Photographers using Canon DX / APS-C sensors will obtain an angle of view of approximately 38 mm (35 mm equivalent) suited to photojournalism and general photography. On Four Thirds cameras, the angle of view would approximately correspond to that of a standard 50 mm lens (35 mm equivalent), providing a fast standard prime lens, and a 50 mm equivalent with Micro Four Thirds (MFT). The Samyang 24mm F1.4 ED AS UMC is a manual focus prime lens. The manual focus ring is wide, easily accessible and perfectly suited to most photographic applications, with the exception of applications such as sports where autofocus lenses would be preferable. For cinematic and video applications, manual focus is often the preferred choice, allowing focus changes during shooting, and there is a growing number of users using digital SLRs for high-definition (HD) shooting and video. This Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC lens features a standard coupled (de-clicked) aperture, adjustable in 1-stop (1 EV) intervals. Precise focus at very short distances or in critical focus situations can be achieved using Live View focusing. The Samyang 24mm offers beautiful bokeh (the character of out-of-focus areas), thanks to its 8-blade circular aperture design and large aperture. The optical construction comprises 13 lenses arranged in 12 groups, 4 lenses are made of extra-low dispersion (ED) glass, plus two aspherical elements. The 24 mm features Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) lenses for the best possible light transmission, and resistance to ghosting and flare. The Samyang 24mm F1.4 ED AS UMC lens offers a professional wide-angle lens with excellent optics, while managing to provide excellent value for money. Supplied with a removable petal-shaped lens hood, lens caps and a soft case. Filter size is 77 mm. Specifications
