The Samyang 24mm F1.4 ED AS UMC is a high-quality wide-angle prime lens with a large aperture, for full-frame or APS-C sensors, compatible with Canon EF, Canon M, Sony A, Sony E, Pentax K, Fujifilm X, Samsung NX, Four Thirds, and Olympus and Panasonic Micro Four Thirds (MFT) mounts. A Nikon version with automatic exposure (AE) is available (listed separately). It is ideal for full-frame cameras, including the latest Sony full-frame E-mount cameras, offering a high-quality wide-angle lens perfect for street, landscape and architectural photography, even in low-light conditions. Sharpness is excellent, even at the edges of the frame at wide apertures, and the large f/1.4 aperture allows for shallow depth of field when required. Photographers using Canon DX / APS-C sensors will get a field of view of approximately 38mm (35mm equivalent) suited to photojournalism and general photography. On Four Thirds cameras, the field of view would be approximately that of a standard 50mm lens (35mm equivalent), providing a fast standard prime lens, and a 50mm equivalent with Micro Four Thirds (MFT). The Samyang 24mm F1.4 ED AS UMC is a manual focus prime lens. The manual focus ring is wide, easily accessible and perfectly suited to most photographic applications, with the exception of applications such as sport where autofocus lenses would be better suited. For cinematographic and video applications, manual focus is often the preferred choice, allowing focus changes during shooting, and there is a growing number of users using digital SLRs for high definition (HD) shooting and video. This Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC lens features a standard coupled (click-stop) aperture, adjustable in 1-stop increments. Precise focusing at very close distances or in critical focusing situations can be achieved using Live View focusing. The Samyang 24mm offers beautiful bokeh (the character of out-of-focus areas), thanks to its 8-blade circular diaphragm and large aperture. The optical construction comprises 13 lenses arranged in 12 groups, 4 lenses are made from Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass, plus two aspherical elements. The 24mm benefits from Ultra Multi Coated (UMC) lenses for the best possible light transmission, and resistance to ghosting and flare. The Samyang 24mm F1.4 ED AS UMC lens offers a professional wide-angle prime lens with excellent optics, while managing to deliver excellent value for money. Supplied with a removable petal-shaped lens hood, lens caps and a soft pouch. The filter diameter is 77mm. Technical specifications
