The Samyang 35mm f/1.4 AS UMC is a bright wide-angle manual focus lens for full-frame cameras, or a fast standard lens when used on APS-C/DX sensors, available for Canon EF, Canon M, Sony A, Sony E, Pentax K, Fujifilm X, Samsung NX, Four Thirds and Panasonic / Olympus Micro Four Thirds (MFT) mounts. Offering excellent resolution and remarkable sharpness across the entire image, matching or even surpassing lenses three times the price, the Samyang 35mm lens is truly a professional-level lens at an affordable price. The Samyang 35mm f1.4 AS UMC lens was designed to fit most popular digital SLR cameras. On a full-frame camera, the 35mm focal length offers universal applications — the lens is a bright/fast wide-angle perfect for landscape, photojournalism and general photography, including low-light photography. Mounted on a camera with an APS-C sensor, it becomes a versatile 50mm prime lens, perfect for general photography including in low light. Mounted on cameras with the 4/3 system, the Samyang 35mm F1.4 AS UMC transforms into a bright short portrait lens with an equivalent focal length of 70mm. The large apertures of the 35mm produce a beautiful bokeh (the character of out-of-focus areas), perfect for portrait-type applications, or photography where ultra-soft, blurred backgrounds or foregrounds are preferred. This technique helps to separate the subject from the background, delivering very pleasing and professional results. Supported by its 8-blade diaphragm, the softness of the bokeh offered by the Samyang 35mm is excellent. Although bokeh character is a personal preference, various independent and user tests rank the Samyang 35mm lens among the best lenses, regardless of price or manufacturer, with regard to its bokeh character. The optical design of the Samyang 35mm f1.4 UMC lens comprises twelve elements arranged in ten groups and includes two high refractive index elements, which help reduce its weight and dimensions to a moderate level for a lens capable of covering full frame. The inclusion of an aspherical optical element minimises and helps reduce lateral chromatic aberration; the UMC multi-layer coatings ensure high contrast and faithful colour reproduction. The design incorporates floating elements to maintain high image quality at minimum focusing distance. It features a wide, comfortable manual focus ring and is perfectly suited to most photographic applications. Precise focusing for critical situations can be achieved using Live View focusing, available on most recent camera models. A growing number of users are using digital SLRs to shoot High Definition (HD) films and videos, and manual lenses allow the user to adjust focus during shooting. The Samyang 35mm F1.4 AS UMC has been designed with great attention to detail, both in terms of optics and build quality, placing the lens among the finest photographic products in its category. Supplied with front and rear lens caps, a petal-type lens hood (reversible for transport) and a soft lens pouch. Filter diameter 77mm technical specifications
