The Samyang 35mm f/1.4 AS UMC is a bright wide-angle manual focus lens for full-frame cameras, or a bright standard lens when used on APS-C/DX sensors, available in Canon EF, Canon M, Sony A, Sony E, Pentax K, Fujifilm X, Samsung NX, Four Thirds and Panasonic / Olympus Micro Four Thirds (MFT) mounts.

Producing excellent resolution and sharpness across the entire image, equal to or surpassing lenses three times more expensive, the Samyang 35mm lens is truly a professional-class lens at an affordable price.

The Samyang 35mm f1.4 AS UMC lens was designed to fit the most popular SLR and DSLR cameras. On a full-frame camera, the 35mm focal length has universal applications; the lens is a perfect bright/fast wide-angle lens for landscape, photojournalism and general photography, including low-light photography. Mounted on a camera with an APS-C sensor, it becomes a versatile 50mm prime lens, perfect for general photography, including low-light photography. When mounted on cameras with the 4/3 system, the Samyang 35mm F1.4 AS UMC becomes a bright short portrait lens with an equivalent focal length of 70mm.

The wide apertures of the 35mm deliver beautiful bokeh (the character of out-of-focus areas), perfect for portrait-type applications, or photography where ultra-soft blurred backgrounds or foregrounds are preferred. This technique helps to separate the subject from the background, giving very pleasing and professional results. Aided by its 8-blade aperture design, the smoothness of the bokeh provided by the Samyang 35mm is excellent. Although bokeh character is a personal preference, various independent tests and users rank the Samyang 35mm lens as one of the best lenses, regardless of cost or manufacturer, in terms of bokeh character.

The optical design of the Samyang 35mm f1.4 UMC lens comprises twelve elements arranged in ten groups and includes two high-refractive-index elements, which help to reduce its weight and dimensions to a moderate level for a full-frame lens. The inclusion of an aspherical optical element minimises and helps to reduce lateral chromatic aberration, while UMC multi-layer coatings offer high contrast and faithful colour reproduction. The design incorporates floating elements to maintain high image quality at the minimum focus distance.

It features a wide and comfortable manual focus ring and is perfectly suited to most photographic applications. Precise focusing for critical situations can be achieved through the use of Live View focusing, available on most recent camera models.

There is a growing number of users using DSLRs for shooting and high-definition (HD) video recording, and manual lenses allow the user to change focus during shooting.

The Samyang 35mm F1.4 AS UMC has been designed with great attention to detail in both optics and build quality, placing the lens among the best photographic products in its category.

Supplied with front and rear caps, petal-type lens hood (reversible for storage) and a soft pouch. Filter size 77mm
