The Samyang 50mm f|1.4 AS UMC sits between the Samyang 35mm and 85mm lenses. The 50mm is a standard prime lens, with a wide f1.4 aperture that is full-frame compatible, and also suitable for cameras with smaller sensors.

Many Samyang users have been asking for a standard 50mm prime lens and here it is! This specially designed Samyang 50mm lens is full-frame compatible, suitable for interchangeable lens cameras and camcorders equipped with a 24x36mm (full-frame) or smaller sensor.

Offering a field of view of 46.2 degrees with a wide f|1.4 aperture, it is superb for low-light shooting and shallow depth of field photography where subject separation from the background is desired, as well as for beautiful bokeh with an 8-blade circular diaphragm.

The lens optics consist of nine optical elements arranged in six groups (including one aspherical element and one hybrid aspherical element). The hybrid aspherical glass lens (H-ASP) minimises chromatic aberration to produce exceptional image quality and high contrast across the entire image, from centre to corners, even at wide apertures. The aspherical element (ASP) further contributes to producing the highest resolution and sharpness across the entire image. To ensure high contrast and faithful colour reproduction, all lens elements have been treated with Samyang's UMC multi-layer anti-reflection coatings.
