The Samyang 50mm f/1.4 AS UMC lens sits between the Samyang 35mm and 85mm lenses. The 50mm is a standard prime lens, with a large f1.4 aperture compatible with full frame, and also suited to cameras with smaller sensors.

Many Samyang users have asked for a standard 50mm lens and here it is! This specially designed Samyang 50mm lens is full-frame compatible, suited to interchangeable-lens cameras and camcorders equipped with a 24x36mm (full-frame) or smaller sensor.

Offering a field of view of 46.2 degrees with a large f/1.4 aperture, it is perfect for low-light shooting and shallow depth-of-field photography where separation of the subject from the background is desired, as well as beautiful bokeh with an 8-blade circular aperture.

The lens optics consist of nine elements arranged in six groups (including one aspherical element and one hybrid aspherical element). The hybrid aspherical glass lens (H-ASP) minimises chromatic aberration to produce exceptional image quality and high contrast across the entire image, from centre to corners, even at large apertures. The aspherical element (ASP) further contributes to producing the highest resolution and sharpness across the entire image. To ensure high contrast and faithful colour reproduction, all lens elements have been treated with Samyang's UMC multi-layer anti-reflection coatings.
