The Samyang 50mm f/1.4 AS UMC lens sits between the Samyang 35mm and 85mm lenses. The 50mm is a standard prime lens, with a fast f1.4 aperture that is full-frame compatible, and also suitable for cameras equipped with smaller sensors.

Many Samyang users have requested a standard 50mm prime lens and here it is! This specially designed Samyang 50mm lens is full-frame compatible, suitable for interchangeable lens cameras and camcorders equipped with a 24x36mm (full-frame) sensor or smaller.

Offering an angle of view of 46.2 degrees with a fast f/1.4 aperture, it is superb for low-light photography and shallow depth-of-field photography where subject separation from the background is desired, as well as beautiful bokeh thanks to an 8-blade circular aperture.

The lens optics consist of nine elements arranged in six groups (including one hybrid aspherical lens element and one aspherical lens element). The hybrid aspherical glass lens (H-ASP) minimises chromatic aberration to produce exceptional image quality and high contrast across the entire image, from centre to corners, even at large apertures. The aspherical element (ASP) further contributes to producing the highest resolution and sharpness across the entire image. To ensure high contrast and faithful colour reproduction, all lens elements have been treated with Samyang's UMC multi-layer anti-reflection coatings.
