The Samyang 50 mm f/1.4 AS UMC lens sits between the Samyang 35 mm and 85 mm lenses. The 50 mm is a standard prime lens with a fast f1.4 aperture, full-frame compatible, and also suited to cameras with smaller sensors.

Many Samyang users have requested a standard 50 mm lens and here it is! This specially designed Samyang 50 mm lens is full-frame compatible, suited to interchangeable-lens cameras and camcorders equipped with a 24x36 mm (full-frame) or smaller sensor.

Offering a field of view of 46.2 degrees with a fast f/1.4 aperture, it is superb for low-light photography and shallow depth-of-field photography where subject-background separation is desired, with beautiful bokeh thanks to an 8-blade circular aperture.

The lens optics consist of nine elements arranged in six groups (including one aspherical element and one hybrid aspherical element). The hybrid aspherical glass lens (H-ASP) minimises chromatic aberration to produce exceptional image quality and high contrast across the entire image, from centre to corners, even at wide apertures. The aspherical element (ASP) further contributes to producing the highest resolution and sharpness across the entire image. To ensure high contrast and faithful colour reproduction, all lens elements have been treated with Samyang's UMC multi-layer anti-reflection coatings.
