Rosco's Super Heat Shield Filter reflects heat away from colour filters, minimising the effects of high temperatures. When used properly, it extends the life of colour filters in very hot bodies without reducing light transmission.
Super Heat Shield repels convective heat due to its extremely heat-stable polymer base and the inherent properties of its resin. Super Heat Shield is generally used to protect colour filters in long-range applications, especially when dark colours such as blue and green are used.
The Super Heat Shield should be placed between the lens and the colour filter, leaving space on each side of the filter for heated air to escape. Extension pieces that allow at least 1/2" of air space on each side of the Super Heat Shield will allow for proper venting and ensure the longevity of the Super Heat Shield.
