Arri ZMU-4 zoom unit main body
Control your cinema camera's zoom function via wired or wireless connection with the ARRI ZMU-4 Zoom Control Unit, thanks to its integrated ports and radio module interface. Combine the ZMU-4 with other LBUS control devices such as the OCU-1 and Master Grip handles. Its slim, ambidextrous design enables easy mounting on your camera support or handheld use. Separately available radio modules such as the RF-EMIP, RF-2400 and RF-900 can be swapped in the control unit for different performance, depending on your shooting situation.
Connectivity and control interface
The unit features a 4-pin LEMO port for LBUS control with compatible ARRI ALEXA cameras and lens motors, and can even daisy-chain units together. A 7-pin LEMO port provides control for third-party camera systems such as Canon and RED models. Integrated control buttons such as a force-sensitive zoom button work in tandem with the TFT display to easily adjust settings. Perform software updates with the USB-C port and power the unit via wired camera connection, an NP-F550/750 battery or a proprietary ARRI LBP-3500 battery pack
Wired and wireless control
The ZMU-4 shares the interchangeable radio module interface of the Hi-5 and is compatible with RF-EMIP, RF-2400 and RF-900 units. Simply slide the unit of your choice into a recessed slot on the ZMU-4 to completely eliminate cables without the need for additional setup. The ZMU-4 eliminates the need for a radio interface adapter to keep your camera setup streamlined.
Wireless extension for compatible devices
When paired with an ARRI radio module, the ZMU-4 acts as a wireless connection for LBUS control devices such as the ARRI OCU-1 control unit or Master Grip handles for extended multi-axis FIZ control.
Innovative display, intuitive controls
An easy-to-read TFT display and integrated button controls provide a user-friendly zoom experience. A force-sensitive joystick and on/off button with indicator light activate your preset zoom protocols with ease. The display shows your exact focal length at any point in your zoom range, zoom speed and remaining battery life. You can even set markers and limits for individual takes, all from the ZMU-4 interface.
Configurable camera control
When connected to a compatible camera unit, three user buttons can be customised for operator-specific camera function shortcuts. Two zoom buttons allow you to increase or decrease the overall speed of your movements. They are positioned right next to your index finger for easy use.
Flexible power and mounting options
When plugged into your camera, the ZMU-4 can be powered by mains. In wireless setups, an integrated L-series battery compartment can accommodate a Sony NP-F550/750 battery or the ARRI LBP-3500 battery pack for more consistent power. With the LBP-3500 and RF-EMIP radio module, the ZMU-4 can operate for 15 hours during long shooting days. ARRI batteries also enable the unit to display its power status for efficient battery management. A unique rosette mount on the side of the unit enables easy attachment of the device to your existing setup.
