Combining a short telephoto field of view with an elegant design and close-up focusing performance, the RF 85mm f/2 Macro IS STM is a versatile lens for a range of subjects, from portraits to macro subjects. Its close-up focusing design allows working with subjects at a distance of 35.05 cm with a maximum magnification of 1:2, and the STM stepping motor offers remarkably quiet and smooth autofocus performance as well as continuous manual focus control. To help create sharp images, the lens also features optical image stabilisation, as well as hybrid stabilisation, to eliminate up to five stops of camera shake for sharper, more stable shooting. An ultra-low dispersion (UD) element is also used in the optical design to minimise aberrations and ensure clarity. Additionally, a configurable control ring allows you to adjust exposure settings, including ISO sensitivity, aperture and exposure compensation, directly from the lens. - Portrait prime lens designed for use with Canon full-frame RF-mount mirrorless digital cameras. - The modest yet bright maximum aperture of f/2 maintains an overall elegant form factor while making it easier to work in available lighting conditions. - The macro design makes it easier to work with close-up subjects and offers a maximum magnification of 1:2 as well as a minimum focusing distance of 35.05 cm. - The optical image stabiliser helps minimise the appearance of camera shake by up to five stops to better enable working in low-light conditions and with slower shutter speeds.
