Dedicated to extreme close-up photography, the Laowa 25mm f/2.8 2.5-5X Ultra Macro with Canon EF mount from Venus Optics is a specialised macro lens for photographing subjects at magnifications greater than life size. Operating in a magnification range of 2.5:1 to 5:1, this lens has a minimum focus distance of only 17.3 cm at 5:1 magnification with a comfortable working distance of 4 cm. This range is favoured by the wide-angle focal length in order to achieve a greater depth of field compared to long focal length macro lenses. Complementing the macro capabilities, the optical design incorporates a very low dispersion element to reduce colour fringing and chromatic aberrations for excellent clarity. Furthermore, what sets it apart from other macro lenses, this 25mm f/2.8 is characterised by its remarkably compact and lightweight design for easier handling and more space to work with artificial lighting.

- At a magnification of 5:1, the lens has a minimum focus distance of 17.3 cm with a working distance of 4 cm, providing ample space to light your subject. In the 2.5:1 position, a minimum focus distance of 23.4 cm is possible with a working distance of 4.6 cm.
- The wide-angle design favours the high magnification design by offering a greater depth of field compared to telephoto or long focal length designs.
