Laowa 15 mm f/4 wide angle macro
Featuring an ultra-wide field of view of 110 degrees with a maximum magnification of 1:1, allowing users to focus very close to the subject while including background details (where and how the subject lives) in the photograph. With a shift function of +/- 4 mm, this lens is the ultimate creative tool for landscape, macro and architectural photography.
Exceptional optical performance from infinity to 1:1 magnification
The new Laowa 15 mm f/4 1:1 Macro lens is the first lens on the market to feature both ultra wide-angle and 1:1 macro capability. This allows photographers around the world to start experimenting in the rather unexplored field of "wide-angle macro photography" without using extension tubes. Current macro lenses on the market tend to have medium to long focal lengths, which limits users to taking very close-up shots of insects or flowers, without showing much background detail such as their habitat or environment.
Treated with anti-reflection coating
The new Laowa 15 mm f/4 1:1 Macro lens offers an ultra-wide field of view of 110 degrees with a maximum magnification of 1:1. Photographers can focus very close to the subject and let the foreground dominate in the photograph while allowing the background to indicate to viewers where and how the subject lives. Your image immediately becomes highly informative and intriguing. Every element of the lens is treated with an anti-reflection coating to prevent flare and ghosting.
Metal construction with +/- 6 mm shift function
The lens can also serve as an excellent ultra wide-angle lens with infinity focus for full-frame cameras. A shift mechanism is added to the rear of the lens with a maximum adjustment of +/- 6 mm for APS-C cameras, which is extremely useful in landscape/architectural photography for distortion correction.
The lens comprises 12 elements in 9 groups with 3 high refractive index elements and 1 extra-low dispersion element to deliver crystal-clear sharpness at both the centre and the edges. Barrel distortion has also been carefully controlled. 14 aperture blades form a near-circular aperture, capable of creating a creamy depth of field. The lens body is made of metal to enhance its durability.
