The fully modular Chrosziel Cine.1 Matte Box is designed to be robust whilst remaining lightweight to suit your handheld or studio camera configuration. Having a matte box at the front of your lens gives you more flexibility in lighting your scene by blocking light sources just out of frame that could enter directly into the lens, which can cause flare and introduce artefacts into the image. This particular version of the Cine.1 series can be mounted on 19 mm studio rods and is configured with two filter stages, but it can be configured to hold one or three filters by adding or removing filter stages. Features Top flag included A top flag (also called an eyebrow) is included to block stray light from above. The flag folds in half to reduce bulk when storing. Additionally, the flag features safety holes that engage with safety latches on the matte box, preventing the flag from accidentally falling off during setup. Adjustable swing-away arm assembly The Chrosziel swing-away arm assembly allows for faster lens changes by easily moving the matte box out of the lens's way. In addition to the swing-away function, the assembly features articulations that allow you to tilt the matte box to avoid filter reflections, as well as slide it horizontally and vertically when adjusting it to your lens, thus compensating for any inconsistencies encountered in complex mounting scenarios. Construction The Cine.1 matte box housing is constructed from high-impact polymer. This material is very rigid and resistant to cracking, whilst keeping the matte box weight low so as not to unbalance your configuration. The frame is constructed from aluminium Expandability By using the multiple threaded mounting points, accessories such as side flags, rosettes, a filter catch and a top accessory plate can be attached to extend the functionality of the Cine.1 matte box.
