Meeting the needs of photographers who rely on the safety of their photos when their SD cards are removed from the camera, the new SF-G TOUGH series combines the world's fastest read and write speeds with an ultra-robust design resistant to a bending force of 180N and drops of up to 5 meters. For photographers who brave the elements to get the perfect shot, SF-G TOUGH series SD cards are also waterproof with an IPX8 rating and dust resistant with an IP6X rating.

The new SF-G TOUGH series SD cards are 18 times stronger than the SD standard thanks to the world's first monolithic structure (one-piece molding, with no empty space in the card) and high-hardness materials, unlike conventional SD cards made up of a thin 3-part assembly. They are protected against typical physical damage that can affect conventional SD cards, such as broken plastic casing, broken data protection lock, and broken connector ribs. This was achieved through a new approach: it's the world's first SD card without ribs and without a write protection switch. These developments ensure that the SF-G TOUGH series is more resistant to bending, easily breakable parts are completely eliminated, and has been designed by Sony to offer the best balance between hardness and robustness. Fully sealed with a one-piece molded structure, no water, dust, or dirt can penetrate the card, meeting the highest levels of water resistance (IPX8) and dust resistance (IP6X).
