Neumann Monitor Alignment Kit 2 EU - 2 x KH 80 DSP + 1 MA 1 set

Equip your studio with a precisely calibrated monitoring system with the Neumann Monitor Alignment Kit 2, which includes two KH 80 DSP grey studio monitors and an MA 1 measurement microphone. The included Neumann calibration software, developed with Fraunhofer IIS, allows you to create a room-specific profile that addresses the frequency, time alignment and amplitude issues inherent to your listening environment. After running the software with the included measurement microphone, your KH series stereo monitoring setup should be optimised to deliver the ideal response for critical listening, mixing, post-production and more. Neumann MA 1 Monitoring Alignment Microphone and System The Neumann MA 1 monitoring alignment microphone and system is designed to help engineers, musicians and producers achieve more accurate and sonically consistent mixes with their Neumann KH 80 DSP monitors or non-DSP KH series monitors when used with the KH 750 DSP subwoofer. The system uses an omnidirectional measurement microphone and downloadable software for Mac and Windows with Fraunhofer IIS algorithms to calibrate and adjust the phase and amplitude of the speakers to compensate for room imperfections. The system is easy to use: simply connect the balanced outputs of your audio interface or monitoring controller to your KH monitors. Connect the Ethernet ports of your DSP monitors to a network switch (sold separately), then connect the switch output to your computer. Plug the calibration microphone into a mic input on your interface (48V phantom power required) and follow the calibration process in your software. An SG105 mic clip is included for mounting the microphone on a stand. The MA 1 software algorithms use the measurements to adjust the speaker parameters according to a room-specific target curve that compensates for the acoustic deficiencies of the room. All correction settings are stored in the DSP speaker, so they are always present without having to worry about plugin and driver issues. Furthermore, once calibrated, you will no longer need the Ethernet connection. As mentioned, you can also calibrate non-DSP KH monitors, provided you also use a KH 750 DSP subwoofer. The KH 750 DSP has sufficient processing power to align the entire system, including the two analogue speakers connected to its outputs. The KH 120, KH 310 and KH 420 speakers benefit from the linearisation of their integrated passive filters for greater clarity, tighter bass and more precise time correction. Compatible DSP Speakers The following speakers are not network compatible and must be connected via a network-compatible subwoofer to be included in the system configuration: KH 120 A, KH 120 D, KH 310 A, KH 310 D, KH 420/KH 420 + DIM 1 Neumann KH 80 DSP 4"" + 1"" 2-Way Active Studio Monitor (Grey, Unit) The Neumann KH 80 DSP grey is a 2-way active studio monitor perfectly suited for near-field monitoring and multichannel configurations in music studios, broadcast centres and mobile production units, as well as for personal studios and desktop audio applications. The KH 80 uses two amplifiers (120W and 70W) to power the 4"" woofer and 1"" tweeter respectively, an integrated DSP engine, a Mathematically Modelled Dispersion (MMD) waveguide, an analogue input and a wide range of optional mounting hardware. The DSP function is accessible via a standard IP network connection that allows monitoring system control using the Neumann.Control app, which runs on a Windows/Mac computer or iOS/Android tablet. Through the use of the latest acoustic and electronic simulation and measurement technologies, the KH 80 can be used in various acoustic conditions with any source equipment and in a wide variety of physical locations, ensuring accurate sound reproduction. -Configuration: -1, 2, 4, 5, 7 and 9 speakers -Identify speakers on the network that are in the room -Assign identified speakers to positions in the room -Alignment: Guided Alignment: A process where you are asked very simple questions about the room and speaker positions, then the app adjusts each speaker's response accordingly -Manual Alignment: 8-band parametric equaliser for expert users. -Expert users have complete freedom to adjust an 8-band parametric equaliser, levels and delays in each speaker as they wish. -Manual alignment can also be used to edit guided alignments in more detail -Operation: -System and alignment selection -Volume control, preset levels, mute, all group mutes, solos, mutes -Other system parameters such as delay, standby level and logo brightness -Internally modelled 1"" fabric alloy dome tweeter -Latest modelling techniques used to minimise non-linear distortion (harmonic and intermodulation) -Low distortion high-frequency reproduction -Powered by a highly efficient 70W amplifier -Elliptical Mathematically Modelled Dispersion (MMD) waveguide -Smoother off-axis response -More tolerant of diverse acoustic environments -Wide horizontal dispersion -Freedom of movement at the mixing console -Narrow vertical dispersion -Reduces reflections from the mixing console -Dual-colour + variable Neumann logo -Displays operating status and activation of the extended protection system -Variable for low-light conditions or behind-screen applications -Internally modelled 4"" long-excursion woofer with composite sandwich cone with Extremely Linear Force Factor (ELFF), magnetic shielding and flow-optimised die-cast basket -Breakup mode damping provides low distortion at high sound levels -Linear piston motor delivers very low harmonic distortion even at high excursions -Reduced air noise and improved rocking modes -Powered by a highly efficient 120W amplifier -Robust metal grilles -Protects against mechanical damage -High-capacity bass-reflex ports optimised for flow with tube resonance damping -Fast transient response in the bass -Reduced bass compression at high output levels -No colouration due to tube resonance -Easier to mount in confined spaces -Compact polycarbonate composite enclosure -Robust construction for long service life -No standing wave resonance -Seamless single-piece front panel -Reduced diffraction and smoother frequency response -Standby function -Reduces energy consumption when the product is not in use -Control function -Use the rear panel controls or the control set defined by Neumann.Control software -4-position bass-midrange acoustic control -Compensates for desk proximity -Fast acoustic configuration in mobile applications -Repeatable acoustic settings after moving speakers -Wide-range input gain and output level controls -Easier interfacing with signal sources-Complete documentation of the full range of mounting hardware -More flexibility for mounting speakers in more diverse locations and compatibility with previous products -Easy advance planning for installations -Dual isolation universal switching power supply (100 to 240V) -One version works in any country and is robust against poor mains power quality -Ground loops are impossible -Network connector using standard IP protocol and your existing network infrastructure -No additional special equipment required -The speaker system can be controlled via Neumann.Control software -The analogue input socket can accept XLR or 6.3 mm (1/4"") jack plugs, electronically balanced with a fully balanced internal signal chain -Fully balanced internal signal routing minimises noise caused by external electromagnetic interference -Production consistency through automated computer-optimised alignment during final testing -Any KH 80 DSP matches any other KH 80 DSP -Separate fast-acting thermal limiters for the woofer and tweeter to protect voice coils and power amplifiers -Soft clipping and woofer excursion limiters -Fast acting and highly reliable -Allows maximum performance to be extracted -Low thermal dissipation amplifiers with large headroom and overheating limitation -Improved transient response -Reliability and safety assured -8 precision acoustic controls accessible via the control network -Precise and flexible speaker alignment in the room and within systems -Delay (0 to 70 ms) -Lip sync: To align audio and video signals up to 1.75 frames at 50 Hz or 2.1 frames at 60 Hz -Flight time: To compensate for listening distance differences up to 24 m (79 feet) -Linear phase passive filter -Flat phase response for temporal transparency
