Adjustable touchscreen
The rotating and swivelling touchscreen allows you to use your EOS RP in an extremely flexible and comfortable way. Take photos from different angles - whether in portrait or landscape format - and use the screen for image control during vlogging, as well as for selfies and group recordings. Thanks to the three-inch diagonal and a resolution of 1.04 million pixels, you can keep an eye on your settings at all times and check the results in the finest detail.
4K UHD video recording
Bring your creative film ideas to life and make inspiring 4K video recordings. Thanks to eye AF, focus peaking and 5-axis digital image stabilisation for films, capturing high-quality videos has never been easier. The rotating and swivelling touchscreen also makes the EOS RP the ideal camera for vloggers. With 8-bit 4:2:2 output via HDMI as well as headphone and microphone connections, it offers other practical features for videographers.
Focus stacking for extremely sharp images
Take extremely sharp photos thanks to the new focus bracketing function of the Canon EOS RP. With this function, the camera takes a series of photos with different focus zones, which you can then combine with image processing software to obtain perfectly sharp images. This is particularly useful for macro or landscape photography.
Fast autofocus with face detection
The Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus has a response time of only 0.05 seconds, thanks to which you never miss an instant and always focus perfectly on your subject. You can also rely on eye AF detection and face detection when taking portraits. The up to 4779 AF points can be easily moved using touch AF or the cross buttons and wheel. Simply take control and decide what to focus on.
Full compatibility with EF and EF-S lenses
Do you already own Canon lenses? No problem: in addition to the new RF lenses with the appropriate adapter, the EOS RP is also compatible with all EF/EF-S lenses - without sacrificing performance or quality.
RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM zoom lens
This lens has a variable focal length, which is continuously adjustable by moving the lens element. It is therefore very versatile and suitable for a variety of uses - especially if the lens cannot be changed quickly due to conditions, adapt it to the respective situation in no time.
Interchangeable lens camera (DSLM) - compact and versatile
The interchangeable lens camera, also called DSLM (Digital Single Lens Mirrorless), combines the advantages of compact and reflex cameras. Compared to the compact camera, it has extended manual adjustment options as well as interchangeable lenses and a wide range of accessories. At the same time, it is also lighter and more compact than a reflex camera, which is a great advantage, especially if you are frequently on the move with your photo equipment.
Full-frame sensor for the highest image quality
With the integrated 35 mm full-frame image sensor, you can achieve the highest image quality. Thanks to its size, the individual pixels have more space, which among other things has a positive effect on noise behaviour. In this way, you can use even high ISO sensitivities without having to sacrifice large amounts of image quality. Due to the larger design, the sensor also offers more space for image information. This, in turn, is noticeable through a higher level of detail, particularly with large format prints and cropped photos.
