FUJIFILM expands the X series with the FUJIFILM X-T50. The hybrid camera offers exceptional image quality, a compact body and FUJIFILM's legendary colour reproduction technology.
The X-T50 is equipped with a 40.2-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 5 HR high-resolution sensor, an X Processor 5 *1 and five-axis image stabilisation of up to seven stops *2. Despite these advanced features, it weighs only approximately 438 grams *3, making it one of the lightest models in the X series. Combined with the new FUJINON XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8 R LM WR standard zoom lens, the camera is suited to a wide variety of subjects.
The FUJIFILM X-T50 will be available in black, silver and charcoal from mid-June 2024.
High image quality
An advanced algorithm combined with the 40.2-megapixel back-illuminated X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor ensures fast image processing with sharp details and improved noise reduction. The pixel structure has been optimised to allow more light to reach the sensor, and a standard sensitivity of ISO 125 has been achieved, previously only available as extended sensitivity. *4
The X-T50's electronic shutter enables ultra-fast shutter speeds of up to 1/180,000th of a second, allowing very precise exposure control. Even in bright sunlight, it is possible to shoot at wide apertures with fast lenses to achieve attractive sharpness effects.
The X-T50's autofocus system offers AI-based subject detection. The algorithm, developed using deep learning technology, reliably recognises and tracks not only people's faces and eyes, but also animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, aeroplanes, trains, insects and drones *5.
The X-T50 offers 20 film simulations, including "REALA ACE" for natural colour reproduction and a contrasty tone. This provides a wide range of image styles that can be selected according to the shooting scene, similar to film photography.
The camera also features a teleconverter *6 that uses the high resolution of the 40.2-megapixel sensor to magnify the image on demand by either 1.4x or 2x.
Advanced shooting features
The five-axis in-body image stabiliser allows shutter speeds up to seven stops longer. Even in low light, such as in the evening or at night, sharp images can be obtained handheld.
The X-T50 can record video in 6.2K quality at 30 frames per second. Tracking autofocus follows dynamic subjects during video recording and keeps them sharp.
In AUTO mode, the camera automatically recognises the subject and selects the optimal shooting settings. Moving subjects remain sharp without photographer intervention, making it easy to capture photos and videos. The mode can be activated at any time via a switch located on the top of the body.
Modern design
The body design has been improved in several ways. The rounded edges and redesigned grip offer comfortable and easy handling.
New on the top of the camera, the film simulation dial allows intuitive switching between different film simulation modes depending on the subject or scene, whether in photography or video.
The camera is equipped with a built-in flash. The flash brightness adjusts automatically according to the subject. Dark scenes or backlit portraits are correctly illuminated.
The 1.84-million-dot tilting LCD screen offers an accurate preview and makes shooting from unusual angles easier. The shape of the grip and the layout of the rear controls have been revised to make capturing photos and videos even more comfortable.
