Powerful DSP for Yamaha's RIVAGE PM System
Widely recognised for their exceptional sound and flexible control, Yamaha's RIVAGE PM digital mixing systems embody the world-class sound, ergonomics and reliability demanded by professional engineers. The DSP-RX is at the heart of the RIVAGE PM series, delivering ultra-powerful signal processing and superior system control. This high-performance DSP engine supports up to 120 inputs, with 48 mix channels, 24 matrix channels and two stereo channels. You'll appreciate the DSP-RX's built-in plug-ins, which include accurate hardware emulations from Rupert Neve Designs as well as harmoniser and reverb effects from Eventide. This DSP engine was designed with scalability in mind, featuring four HY slots and two Mini-YGDAI slots. You also benefit from DSP mirroring and dual redundant power supplies for maximum reliability. The DSP-RX is a component of Yamaha's RIVAGE PM system, which also includes a control surface and an I/O rack.
Integrated effects processing delivering world-class sound
The Yamaha DSP-RX is packed with exceptionally sounding effects — more than 50 to be precise. Each of its input channels features a 4-band parametric EQ, whilst its output channels are equipped with 8-band parametric EQs. Four EQ types are available: Precise for surgical adjustments, Aggressive for adding character, Smooth for natural results and Legacy for recreating the sound of classic Yamaha digital consoles. You also have two dynamics stages, each with gate, compression, ducking and de-essing options. Two compressor varieties are included: Legacy Comp for classic Yamaha dynamic control and Comp260, which models the legendary sound of a 1970s VCA hardware unit. Furthermore, Yamaha collaborated with Rupert Neve Designs to develop perfect recreations of their world-renowned EQs and compressors, with Eventide to create flawless models of their harmoniser and reverb effects, and with Dan Dugan Sound Design to implement their popular automatic microphone mixing processing.
DSP mirroring and redundant power supplies ensure maximum reliability
One of the aspects we appreciate most about Yamaha's RIVAGE PM digital mixing systems is their reliability. This rock-solid reliability is built directly into the DSP-RX. Should you encounter a problem with your primary DSP engine, you can use the DSP-RX's DSP mirroring capabilities for seamless redundancy, allowing a second DSP engine to take over. The best part of all this is that the process is transparent. Your audience won't even know there was a problem. At Sweetwater, we also appreciate the redundant power supplies of this DSP engine. With the DSP-RX, the show goes on!
Yamaha RIVAGE PM Series — Uncompromising Digital Mixing
The Yamaha DSP-RX DSP engine is part of the company's acclaimed RIVAGE PM digital mixing system. This ultra-flexible ecosystem includes control surfaces, DSP engines, I/O racks and audio interface cards. The control surfaces are the heart of the system, offering you high-quality faders, intuitive touchscreens and Yamaha's celebrated Selected Channel section. The five control surfaces in the series offer similar functionality. If you're familiar with one of them, you'll have no trouble moving to another. The DSP engines are the "brain" of your RIVAGE PM system. They provide signal processing from leading developers such as Rupert Neve Designs and Eventide, as well as system control. Moreover, they are capable of transmitting and receiving up to 256 digital audio inputs/outputs. The I/O racks house the physical connections of your system. And they perform admirably, integrating Yamaha's transparent and natural hybrid microphone preamps with high-performance analogue input stages, as well as advanced digital sections with precise emulations of Rupert Neve Designs transformers and SILK processing circuitry. Finally, the audio interface cards provide your analogue and digital I/O and add TWINLANe, Dante and MADI capabilities to your digital mixing system.
