The mic/mic input channel is a dual mono microphone input with a switching button to select either Mic 1 or Mic 2. Each Mic input has jumper-selectable phantom power available at +48V and a high-pass filter to remove low-frequency rumble. When enabled, the microphone LF response is attenuated at 125kHz, 6dB per octave. If the Mic input is used for the presenter's microphone, it can also become the talkback mic. EQ is fitted as standard to this channel and is enabled by the EQ button, offering 10dB of cut and boost at HF (6.5kHz) and LF (100Hz). The BAL/PAN control operates as follows: Fully anti-clockwise, the signal is routed to the left and boosted by 3dB (right channel drops by 70dB); fully clockwise, the signal is routed to the right and boosted by 3dB (left channel drops by 70dB). A balanced line-level insert input and output are available for the Mic input. This is useful for connecting an external effect to use with the microphone. There are remote logic input controls for Mic Cough mute and reverse talkback, and two separate output controls for Mic Cue lights, which can be momentary or latching. The remote outputs on the 9-pin D-type connector are driven by NPN opto-isolators. Both Mic inputs have a jumper-selectable output to facilitate muting of control room or studio speakers, and the channel can also be used to control one of two separate timer displays. Gold-plated Neutrik XLR connectors are used for audio inputs and outputs.
