The award-winning Kino Flo FreeStyle 41 unleashes your creativity with a quick-release feature to remove the LED panel from the fixture, reducing the weight by almost half (from 7.3 kg to 4.4 kg) and creating a more compact format for improved mounting flexibility. The LED panel's corner guards can be used to suspend it from a rope or wire. The panel also accepts a screw-mount bracket for working on lighting stands. The Freestyle 41 comes complete with the colour-programmable FreeStyle controller, head cable (7.6 m), complete fixture with removable LED panel, and a screw-on KinoGrip centre mount. Honeycomb louvers of 90 degrees or 60 degrees, mounted with hook-and-loop fasteners, give direction to the light, and when removed, the panel diffuses a wide soft beam across the set. The FreeStyle 41 is renowned for its white light >96, full-saturation colour, cinema gel choices, and RGB colour selection via the 150W AC/DC FreeStyle controller. It incorporates Lumen Radio wireless DMX; no additional cost for wireless receiver accessories. The light can also be used directly up to 15 metres from the controller via Kino Flo head cables.

The Freestyle driver technology produces soft, bright light with continuous dimming from 100% to 0% on a linear or square curve without flicker at high camera speeds or variable shutter angles. There is no change in light level when switching from 2500K to 9900K, and colour does not shift when light levels increase or decrease. Colour and brightness remain stable throughout the rated LED lifespan thanks to Kino Flo's advanced True Match daylight and tungsten colour management system, which has enjoyed uncontested success since Kino Flo introduced the idea of True Match studio LEDs with a soft panel six years ago. Passive cooling keeps the LEDs in good condition for a longer useful life than fixtures requiring electric fans.
In the Gel/Hue menu, the Kelvin range is extended from 2500K to 9900K daylight, and a fourth channel is called Gel. The Gel channel includes Kino Flo presets such as blue and green screen, sodium vapour, mercury vapour, as well as over 100 well-known lighting gels. The gel function can be applied to any Kelvin temperature, and by pressing/releasing the control button, the gel will be applied or removed. A fifth channel called Hue Angle and a sixth channel Saturation (Sat) are also included in the gel menu. These two channels behave similarly to a traditional colour wheel, where white light is at the centre and the Hue Angle determines the colour over a 360-degree range and Saturation determines the amount of colour applied. With Hue Angle and Saturation, it is possible to create over 2 million colour combinations!
The RGB colour menu offers individual control of the red, green, and blue LEDs. RGB mode is an excellent way to work with applications that have RGB presets or predetermined colour wheels. The RGB menu is also an excellent function for setting RGB values for specific gels or when controlling colours from a DMX console. The FX (Effects) menu introduced on 1 June 2018 provides access to popular effects such as Candle, Fire, TV, Police, Lightning, Paparazzi, Pulse, and Scroll. Once the desired effect is selected, multiple presets as well as control parameters can be modified. For example, in the Lightning effect, there is a "Storm" and "Frankenstein" preset, but it is possible to modify the frequency to offer additional variations.

The firmware mentioned above is loaded onto the FreeStyle LED controller and can drive the Freestyle 41 fixture remotely with a 25 ft extension cable or can directly power the panel when mounted to the rear of the fixture. The Freestyle controller (LED-151X) includes standard cable DMX input/output ports as well as wireless DMX connectivity (Lumen Radio). The controller has a universal AC voltage input 100-240VAC (1.25 amperes at 120VAC) as well as a 3-pin XLR for 24VDC operation (6.25A). Kino Flo's new FreeStyle LEDs are also equipped with standard and wireless DMX (Lumen Radio), 24VDC input, and universal voltage input 100-240VAC (1.25 amperes at 120VAC). The FreeStyle 151 DMX LED controller firmware can be updated from a PC using the Mini B data port.

The FreeStyle LED fixture consists of a removable LED panel and louver. The louver is held in place by hook-and-loop fasteners. The LED panel can be removed from the fixture housing by pressing the locking pin and turning the knurled screw. The fixture has a threaded mounting plate to accommodate a screw-mount bracket. The LED panel also has a threaded mounting plate to accommodate a removable screw-mount bracket and has moulded corners for additional mounting options.
