Kino Flo's award-winning FreeStyle 41 unleashes your creative side with a quick-release feature that allows removal of the LED panel from the fixture, reducing weight by nearly half (from 7.3kg to 4.4kg) and creating a smaller form factor for improved mounting flexibility. The LED panel corners can be used to hang it on rope or wire. The panel also accepts a threaded mount for use on lighting stands. The Freestyle 41 comes complete with the colour-programmable FreeStyle controller, head cable (7.62m), complete fixture with removable LED panel, and KinoGrip centre mount. 90-degree or 60-degree honeycomb louvers, mounted with Velcro fastenings, provide light direction, and when removed, the panel displays a soft, wide beam on set. The FreeStyle 41 is renowned for its >96 white light, full-saturation colour, cinema gel selections, and RGB chromatic selection via the 150-watt AC/DC FreeStyle controller. It comes with built-in Lumen Radio wireless DMX; no additional cost for wireless receiver accessories. The light can also be used directly up to 15.24 metres from the controller via Kino Flo head cables. Freestyle driver technology delivers soft, bright light with continuous dimming from 100% to 0% on a linear or square curve without flicker at high camera speeds or varying shutter angles. There is no light level change when switching from 2500K to 9900K, and colour does not shift when light levels increase or decrease. The gel function can be applied to any Kelvin temperature, and by pressing the control button, the gel will be applied or removed. A fifth channel called Hue Angle and a sixth channel Saturation (Sat) are also included in the gel menu. These two channels behave similarly to a traditional colour wheel, where white light is at the centre and Hue Angle determines the colour over a 360-degree range, whilst Saturation determines the amount of colour applied. With Hue Angle and Saturation, it is possible to create over 2 million colour combinations!

The RGB menu is also an excellent feature for setting specific gel RGB values or when controlling colours from a DMX console. The FX (Effects) menu, introduced on 1 June 2018, provides access to popular effects such as Candle, Fire, TV, Police, Lightning, Paparazzi, Pulse, and Scroll. For the desired effect, there are several presets as well as control parameters that can be modified. For example, in the Lightning effect, there are "Storm" and "Frankenstein" presets, but the frequency can be changed to provide additional variation.

The above-mentioned firmware is loaded onto the FreeStyle LED controller and can operate the Freestyle 41 fixture remotely with a 7.62m extension cable or can drive the panel directly when mounted to the rear of the fixture. The Freestyle controller (LED-151X) includes standard DMX input/output ports for cable as well as wireless DMX connectivity (Lumen Radio). The controller has universal AC voltage input 100-240VAC (1.25A at 120VAC) as well as a 3-pin XLR for 24VDC operation (6.25A). Kino Flo's new FreeStyle LEDs are also equipped with standard and wireless DMX (Lumen Radio), 24VDC input, and universal voltage input 100-240VAC (1.25A at 120VAC). The FreeStyle 151 LED DMX controller firmware can be updated from a PC using the Mini B data port.
