Add four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports to your computer with the Sonnet Allegro 4-port USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C PCIe card. Equipped with two USB 3.2 Gen 2 controllers and capable of a total data throughput of up to 20 Gb/s, this PCIe 2.0 x4 card can provide up to 7.5 W of power per port to connected compatible hard drives, SSDs and other USB Type-C peripherals. The card is compatible with certain versions of Windows, Mac and Linux. Features Speed and power The Sonnet Allegro 4-port USB Type-C PCIe card supports data transfers from a single USB 3.1 Gen 2 SSD RAID peripheral at up to 800 MB/s. Thanks to its dual-controller design, the card can simultaneously transfer data to two connected drives at up to 660 MB/s each. With four drives connected, all four ports support simultaneous transfers of 300 MB/s. The card provides 7.5 W of power through each of its ports, supporting USB-powered hard drives and SSDs without requiring additional power adapters. No auxiliary power required Ordinary USB Type-C cards require a separate power connection. The Sonnet 4-port USB Type-C card obtains the power needed to operate connected drives directly from the slot in which it is installed. This allows you to install the Sonnet card in any compatible computer or Thunderbolt expansion chassis without worrying about the availability of additional power connectors. Independent per-port power regulation Typical USB Type-C cards can provide poor power regulation, allowing a connected drive to be forced to shut down (automatic disconnection) when an additional peripheral is connected or disconnected. The Allegro card is designed to protect each port from power issues on adjacent ports, helping to prevent automatic disconnections. Resettable fuses The Allegro card features a resettable fuse on each port, designed to protect both the card and the computer in the event of a cable or peripheral failure. Resetting a tripped fuse is simple: just shut down and restart your computer. Optimised for Thunderbolt Do you have a Thunderbolt connection but no PCIe slot? The Allegro 4-port USB-C PCIe card is ideal for use in Sonnet's optional Thunderbolt 2 and Thunderbolt 3 PCIe card expansion systems, including Echo Express and xMac desktop and rack-mount chassis, allowing you to add four USB Type-C SuperSpeed+ ports to your computer without expansion slots. Broad peripheral support, easy installation The Sonnet Allegro 4-port USB Type-C PCIe card supports hot-plug and hot-swap peripheral connections with automatic peripheral configuration, and works with most USB-IF compliant USB peripherals. This full-height Sonnet card installs easily in most PCIe x4 (mechanical) or larger slots.
