The Sonnet Twin 10G Thunderbolt 3 to Dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter provides two 10GbE ports for your Thunderbolt 3 system. The Twin 10G features two Thunderbolt 3 ports, allowing daisy-chaining of up to 6 Thunderbolt devices to a single system. To ensure a reliable and fast network connection, the 10GbE ports are equipped with failover and link aggregation support. Featuring a built-in Intel X550 10GbE controller, the Twin 10G assists your system's processor with flow controls as well as TCP, UDP, and IPv4 checksum processes, thus freeing up the CPU for other tasks. To cool internal components, it is equipped with a variable-speed fan. Additionally, Sonnet includes a 1.6' Thunderbolt cable and a ThunderLok 3, which secures the cable to the chassis. 10GbE The Twin 10G Thunderbolt 3 Edition adapter is equipped with two Ethernet ports, allowing it to connect to 10GbE infrastructures via Cat 6 or Cat 6A copper cables over distances of up to 55 m or 100 m, respectively. Simple Setup Connect the Twin 10G Thunderbolt 3 Edition adapter to your computer via the included Thunderbolt 3 cable, download and install a driver, connect the adapter to the network switch, and configure the adapter settings through the Mac OS X Network control panel or Windows Device Manager. Instead of a network switch, you can also connect it directly to a 10GbE-compatible storage device via Cat 6 or Cat 6A cables. Smart Operation The Twin 10G Thunderbolt 3 Edition adapter achieves its high-throughput performance and low host CPU utilisation through functions that include flow control, support for 64-bit addressing for systems using more than 4 GB of physical memory, and stateless offloads such as TCP, UDP, and IPv4 checksum offloading. These processes allow your computer to perform better when transferring large files or during high I/O operations. Its dual 10GbE connections support transparent failover to keep your computer connected in case of a single cable disconnect or failure of one of the ports. Additionally, the connections feature link aggregation support for increased throughput. Small and Nearly Silent The Twin 10G Thunderbolt 3 Edition adapter is compact enough to fit easily into most workspaces, while being large enough to allow adequate air circulation inside the enclosure. The Twin 10G Thunderbolt 3 is equipped with a temperature-controlled variable-speed fan that keeps it cool and quiet, making it suitable for use in noise-sensitive environments. Built with sturdy yet lightweight aluminium, the adapter's outer shell protects the internal components. Thunderbolt 3 The Twin 10G Thunderbolt 3 Edition adapter includes two Thunderbolt 3 (USB Type-C) ports; the first connects the adapter to your computer, while the second supports daisy-chaining of up to five additional Thunderbolt devices on a single port of your computer. Thunderbolt 3's 40 Gb/s bandwidth includes support for USB 3.1 at speeds of 10 Gb/s, meaning you can connect a typical USB device to the second port using an optional adapter or cable. Thunderbolt 3 also supports dual-bandwidth DisplayPort 1.2, which means it can power two 4K @ 60 Hz displays or one 5K multi-panel display @ 60 Hz. For connected peripherals requiring additional power, 15 watts are provided to bus-powered devices. ThunderLok 3 and Thunderbolt 3 Cable Included The Twin 10G Thunderbolt 3 Edition adapter includes a 0.5 m Thunderbolt 3 cable for connecting to your computer and a Sonnet ThunderLok 3 Thunderbolt connector retainer clip to secure the cable to the adapter. Sonnet's ThunderLok 3 helps prevent accidental cable disconnections that can lead to data loss by securing the Thunderbolt cable to the adapter. ThunderLok 3 is easy to install and use: just slide it over one of the cable connectors, plug in the connector, and then secure it to the adapter by turning a thumbscrew. Because ThunderLok doesn't attach to the connector, it stays on the cable and won't get lost when not in use.
