The Mentor time server is software that runs on a Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7™/Windows 8 PC and synchronises multiple Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7™/Windows 8 client machines or Sonifex Net-Log units with its clock. The client PCs or Net-Logs read the time from the server and synchronise via TCP/IP at regular intervals.
Mentor Server must be run as an administrator on Windows 8, otherwise you will not be able to connect to remote NTP servers.
Clock sources
Mentor Server can be synchronised with these reliable time sources:
-NTP (time servers on the Internet)
-Global Positioning Satellite (using the Sonifex GPS-1 antenna)
