The Tiffen 27.5-37mm adapter ring is a reliable and economical way to use filters. For example, a 49-52mm adapter ring would allow you to use 52mm filters on lenses with a 49mm front thread.
Note: Tiffen also produces step-down rings that allow the use of smaller filters on lenses with larger front threads. For example, a 52-49mm step-down ring would allow the use of a 49mm filter on a lens with a 52mm front thread. Care must be taken when using step-down rings to avoid vignetting.
