Tiffen PRO100 Filter Holder with 77mm Adapter Ring
The Pro100 Series Filter Holder with 77mm Adapter Ring from Tiffen is designed to enable convenient use of 100 mm wide and 4 mm thick filters on lenses with a 77 mm front thread.
Using the filter holder can be easily accomplished by first screwing the included 77mm adapter ring for the Pro100 Series filter holder onto a lens with a 77mm front thread. Adapter rings are available separately for lenses with front threads of 49mm, 52mm, 55mm, 58mm, 62mm, 67mm, 72mm or 82mm. Once mounted on an adapter ring, the filter holder's pull-and-release locking pin enables a reliable yet adjustable connection that allows the filter holder to rotate 360°, enabling the use of graduated neutral density filters and other filters that are enhanced by varied positioning.
The Pro100 Series filter holder is pre-installed with two pairs of plastic slots, a configuration that accommodates two rectangular filters. These slots are secured to the filter holder by four screws in total, which also serve to apply pressure to the filters placed between the slots. These screws can be loosened or tightened to vary the level of grip on the inserted filters, which can complement the use of graduated filters whose effect can be adjusted to better suit changing lighting conditions or creative requirements by sliding them up and down in a filter slot.
To prevent stray light, which could have undesirable effects on exposure, from passing between an installed filter and a connected lens, two of the four included adhesive gaskets can be placed along the front of the Pro100 Series filter holder. These gaskets are designed to be positioned so that two of them each form a seal between the plastic filter slots. The two remaining adhesive gaskets are provided in case one of the initially installed gaskets should need to be replaced.
