The Tiffen Pro-Mist 1/16 4 x 5.65" filter helps to reduce the intensity of highlights whilst substantially decreasing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for reducing and softening facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Although designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or blur filter, Pro-Mist filters preserve most of the image detail. The 1/16 density offers less contrast and highlight reduction than the 1/8, whilst still allowing a soft, pastel-like light quality.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process which involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and polishing it to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 4 x 5.65" / 101.6 x 143.5 mm.
