The Tiffen Pro-Mist 1/16 6.6 x 6.6" Filter reduces the value of highlights whilst noticeably decreasing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for reducing and softening facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Whilst designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike traditional diffusion or blur filters, Pro-Mist filters offer little loss of detail across the entire image. The 1/16 density offers less contrast and highlight reduction than 1/8, whilst allowing for a soft, pastel light quality.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and polishing it flat to a tolerance of one 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 6.6 x 6.6" / 167.6 x 167.6 mm.
