The Tiffen 4 x 5.65" Water White Natural IRND 0.9 is an ND filter with an 8x filter factor that provides a 3-stop exposure reduction. Its 0.9 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing down your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you can more easily control depth of field and translate motion. Neutral density filters are designed not to affect image colouring and are ideal for pairing with other filters.
The design of this filter has been optimised for use with digital sensors and to promote near-uniform attenuation of visible and infrared light. Due to the greater sensitivity of image sensors to infrared light compared to traditional films, colour casts can appear when photographing darker subjects requiring longer exposure times.This Tiffen 4 x 5.65" Water White Natural IRND 0.9 filter is manufactured from Water White glass for better clarity and colour fidelity. It is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, with a flatness tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and measures 4 mm thick.
