The Tiffen 6.6 x 6.6" Water White Natural IRND 0.6 Filter is an ND filter with a 4x filter factor that provides a 2-stop exposure reduction. Its density of 0.6 creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a larger aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing down your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you can control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters are designed not to affect image colouration and are ideal for pairing with other filters.
The design of this filter has been optimised for use with digital sensors and to promote almost uniform attenuation of visible and infrared light. Due to the increased sensitivity of image sensors to infrared light, compared to traditional films, colour casts can appear when photographing darker subjects requiring increased exposure times.
This Tiffen 6.6 x 6.6" Water White Natural IRND 0.6 Filter is made from Water White glass for enhanced clarity and colour fidelity. It is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and measures 4 mm thick.
