Tiffen Satin 1 6.6 x 6.6" Filter
 
The Tiffen Satin 1 6.6 x 6.6" filter can be applied to intentionally reduce the appearance of blemishes and wrinkles. This can be useful for creating a more flattering result of a subject whilst softening bright areas, reducing contrast and giving textures a smoother appearance. Additionally, a halo effect around bright areas is created, which can further enhance the appearance of a subject or produce a desired effect whilst maintaining overall sharpness.
This filter has a grade of 1. Grades of 1/2, 2 and 3 are also available, where the effect of this type of filter becomes approximately twice as strong with each increase in grade number.
This filter is manufactured from water white glass for increased clarity and colour fidelity. It is constructed using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass and grinding it flat to within 1/10,000th of an inch tolerance.
