Tiffen 6.6 x 6.6" Satin 1/2 Filter
 
The Tiffen 6.6 x 6.6" Satin 1/2 filter can be used to intentionally reduce the appearance of blemishes and wrinkles. This can be useful for creating a more flattering result of the subject whilst highlights are softened, contrast is reduced, and textures take on a smoother appearance. Additionally, a halo effect around highlights is created, which can further enhance a subject's appearance or produce the desired effect whilst maintaining overall sharpness.
This filter has a grade of 1/2. Grades of 1, 2, and 3 are also available, with the effect of this type of filter becoming approximately twice as strong with each grade increase.
This filter is constructed from water-white glass for superior clarity and colour fidelity. It is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass and grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch.
