Tiffen 6.6 x 6.6" Satin 3 Filter 
 
The Tiffen 6.6 x 6.6" Satin 3 Filter can be used to intentionally reduce the appearance of blemishes and wrinkles. This can be useful for creating a more flattering result of a subject whilst highlights are softened, contrast is reduced and textures have a smoother appearance. Additionally, a halation effect around highlights is created, which can further enhance the appearance of a subject or produce a desired effect whilst maintaining overall sharpness.
This filter has a grade of 3. Grades 1/2, 1 and 2 are also available, where the effect of this type of filter becomes approximately twice as strong with each increase in grade number.
This filter is manufactured from pure white glass for enhanced optical clarity and colour fidelity. It is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass and grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch.
