Tiffen 82mm NATural IRND 1.8 Filter (6 stops)

The Tiffen 82mm NATural IRND 1.8 is an ND filter with a 64x filter factor that provides a 6-stop exposure reduction. Its 1.8 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you can more easily control depth of field and convey movement. Neutral density filters are designed not to affect the colouring of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.
The design of this filter has been optimised for use with digital sensors and to promote near-flat attenuation of visible and infrared light. Due to the greater sensitivity of imaging sensors to infrared light, compared with traditional films, colour casts can occur when photographing darker subjects requiring increased exposure times.
This uncoated filter is made from water white glass for enhanced clarity and features an aluminium alloy mount for durability whilst remaining lightweight. It is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass and grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch.
