Combining infrared attenuation with solid neutral density, the Tiffen 4.5" round IRND 1.8 filter is a versatile solution for reducing exposure values and achieving neutral colour. The neutral density portion of the filter offers a 6-stop exposure reduction for working with longer shutter speeds or wider apertures. The IR portion attenuates infrared wavelengths above 700 nm, which is beneficial when working with CCD and CMOS sensors in challenging lighting conditions where infrared pollution can affect colour balance. This IR design also works proportionally to the density value, allowing you to achieve comparatively neutral results from one density to another in various lighting conditions. The filter is constructed from clear white optical glass and uses Tiffen's ColorCore technology to maintain clarity and quality. It measures 4.5" in diameter and is suitable for use in certain lens hoods and matteboxes.
