The Tiffen 4 x 4" Pro-Mist 1/2 Filter helps to reduce highlight intensity whilst significantly decreasing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for smoothing and softening facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Whilst designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or blur filter, Pro-Mist filters preserve image detail. The 1/2 density offers more contrast and highlight reduction than the 1/4, but less than the 1, whilst allowing a soft, pastel light quality.

Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that laminates the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinds it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 4 x 4" / 101.6 x 101.6 mm.
