The Tiffen Pro-Mist 3 4 x 4" filter reduces the value of highlights while significantly decreasing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for smoothing and softening facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Although designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or blur filter, Pro-Mist filters offer minimal loss of detail across the entire image. Density 3 provides more contrast and highlight reduction than density 2, but less than density 4, whilst allowing for soft, pastel light quality.

Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding it to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 4 x 4" / 101.6 x 101.6 mm.
