The Tiffen 4 x 4" UV 16 filter is a versatile clear filter that helps absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. This filter is particularly useful for photographing at altitude or around bodies of water. No colouring or additional contrast is added, allowing you to combine this filter with others. This filter attenuates approximately 89% of UV radiation, slightly less than a UV 17 filter.

The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave permanently on lenses. Filters help reduce dust and moisture reaching your lens and provide additional protection in the event of drops or situations where scratches could occur.

Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and polishing it to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 4 x 4" / 101.6 x 101.6mm.
