The Tiffen 4 x 4" Warm Pro-Mist 1 filter helps to reduce highlight values whilst noticeably decreasing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for smoothing and softening facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Although designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or blur filter, Pro-Mist filters result in little loss of detail across the entire image. Density 1 offers more contrast and highlight reduction than 1/2, but less than 2, whilst providing a soft, pastel light quality.

This filter also combines the diffusion effect with an 812 warming filter to bring overall warmth to the image and enhance skin tones. This warming effect also helps to reduce blue sensitivity and soften excessively cool tones in the scene.

Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and polishing it to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 4 x 4" / 101.6 x 101.6 mm.
