The Tiffen Warm Pro-Mist 1/2 4 x 4" filter helps to reduce highlight values whilst significantly decreasing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for smoothing and softening facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Although designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike traditional diffusion or blur filters, Pro-Mist filters offer little loss of detail across the entire image. The 1/2 density provides more contrast and highlight reduction than the 1/4, but less than the 1, whilst allowing for a soft, pastel light quality.

This filter also combines the diffusion effect with an 812 warming filter to bring overall warmth to the image and enhance skin tones. This warming effect also helps to reduce blue sensitivity and soften overly cool tones in the scene.

Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and polishing it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 4 x 4" / 101.6 x 101.6 mm.
