The Tiffen Warm Pro-Mist 1/4 4 x 4" filter reduces highlight values whilst significantly decreasing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for softening and reducing facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Whilst designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike traditional diffusion or soft-focus filters, Pro-Mist filters preserve image detail. The 1/4 density offers more contrast and highlight reduction than the 1/8, but less than the 1/2, whilst allowing a soft, pastel light quality.

This filter also combines the diffusion effect with an 812 warming filter to bring overall warmth to the image and enhance skin tones. This warming effect also helps to reduce blue sensitivity and soften excessively cool tones in the scene.

Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and polishing it to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 4 x 4" / 101.6 x 101.6 mm.
