The Tiffen 4 x 4" Black Satin 2 filter can be used to intentionally reduce the appearance of blemishes and wrinkles.

This can be useful for creating a more flattering result of a subject, whilst highlights are softened, contrast is reduced and textures take on a smoother appearance.

Additionally, a halation effect around highlights is created, which can further enhance the appearance of a subject or produce the desired effect whilst maintaining overall sharpness.

This filter has a grade of 2. Grades 1/4, 1/2, 1 and 3 are also available, with the effect of this type of filter becoming approximately twice as strong with each increase in grade number.

This filter is constructed from clear white glass for superior clarity and colour fidelity. It is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 plates of optical glass and polishing it to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch.
