The Tiffen 4 x 4" HDTV/FX 1 is a light diffusion and softening filter specially designed for high-definition imaging.

This filter helps to reduce the hyper-sharpness typically associated with HD photography and produces an image quality closer to film photography.

By slightly reducing contrast and sharpness, skin details appear smoother and there is an increase in shadow detail. The effects of this filter are most significant when used for video applications rather than still photography.

This filter offers more softening than density 2, but less than density 1/2.

This filter is made from Water White glass and is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch.

This filter measures 4 x 4" / 101.6 x 101.6mm.
