The Tiffen 4 x 4" HDTV/FX 1/2 Filter is a soft diffusion and softening filter specifically designed for high-definition imaging.

This filter helps to reduce the hyper-sharpness typically associated with HD photography and produces an image quality closer to film photography.

By slightly reducing contrast and sharpness, skin detail appears smoother and shadow detail is more visible. The effects of this filter are more pronounced when used for video applications rather than still photography.

This filter offers more softening than the 1/4 density, but less than the density 1 filter.

This filter is constructed from Water White glass and is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and polishing it to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch.

This filter measures 4 x 4" / 101.6 x 101.6 mm.
