This kit includes the following 4x5.65" filters: Tiffen Black Diffusion FX 1/2, Black Pro Mist 1/2, Warm Black Diffusion FX 1/4, Soft FX 1 and a soft pouch.

Black Diffusion FX Filters
Tiffen Black Diffusion/FX filters are artistic blur filters. They are made with an irregular black pattern that softens small details, such as wrinkles and skin blemishes, whilst keeping larger details, such as eyes, sharp. Most Tiffen Black Diffusion/FX filters are only available in grades 3 and 5, with grade 5 having the most pronounced effect. This filter is particularly effective for portraits.

Tiffen's FX diffusion filters are also available in a "warm" tone.

Black Pro Mist Filters
Pro-Mist filters, which are part of Tiffen's Hollywood/FX series, generally produce a highlight glow that appears more as a "halo" than the more extended glow of a fog filter. By keeping the glow closer to the subject, they create an almost pearlescent glow on highlights. Available in different degrees of diffusion strength (grade 5 having the strongest effect), lower grades of the filter are also used to reduce excessive sharpness and contrast in modern film and lens combinations without degrading the image. The Black Pro-Mist series also creates moderate image softening and moderate to strong highlight glow, but without as much lightening effect in shadow areas.

Both of these filters are also available in a "Warm" series, which combines the Pro Mist effect with Tiffen's exclusive 812 warming filter.

Soft FX Filters
Tiffen Soft/FX filters are artistic blur filters. They feature a pattern of tiny lenses that put small details, such as wrinkles and skin blemishes, out of focus, whilst keeping larger details, such as eyes, sharp. Soft/FX filters are available in most sizes, from grade one-half to grade five, with grade 5 having the most significant softening effect. This filter is particularly effective for artistic blur portraits.
