The Tiffen 4 x 5.65" CC10B Blue filter is a colour compensation (or colour correction) filter used to make colour balance adjustments. It can be used to modify the colour balance of a scene by placing it in front of a light source or your camera lens. It can also be used to apply colour corrections when used in a darkroom with an enlarger or to help preview colour adjustments when viewing prints.

Blue is the opposite of yellow and can be used to reduce yellow tones or casts in a scene or print. This CC10 blue is denser than a CC05 filter and less dense than a CC20 filter, and requires 0.3 stop compensation for normal exposure results.

Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and polishing it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 4 x 5.65" / 101.6 x 143.5 mm.
