The Tiffen 4 x 5.65" CC10M magenta filter is a colour compensation (or correction) filter used to adjust colour balance. It can be placed in front of a light source or your camera lens to alter the colour balance of a scene. It can also be used to apply colour corrections in the darkroom with an enlarger or to preview colour adjustments when examining prints.

Magenta is the opposite of green and can be used to reduce green tones or casts in a scene or print. This CC10 magenta is denser than a CC05 filter and less dense than a CC20 filter, and requires a compensation of 0.3 stops for normal exposure results.

Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 optical glass plates and polishing it to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 4 x 5.65" / 101.6 x 143.5 mm.
