The Tiffen Pro-Mist 4 4 x 5.65" filter helps to reduce highlight values whilst significantly decreasing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for smoothing and softening facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Although designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike traditional diffusion or soft focus filters, Pro-Mist filters offer little loss of detail across the entire image. Density 4 provides more contrast and highlight reduction than density 3, but less than density 5, whilst allowing for a soft, pastel light quality. Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and polishing it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch.
